So today was a very good example of why its important to not over-extend yourself in the field. I forgot to put on sunscreen yesterday, and it hovered a little over 70 degrees in the valley, so after four or five hours of walking around I was pooped and sunburnt, joy. My pictures were, well, crap. Those that were not blown out or too dark were misaligned, and I think the reason they aren't out of focus was because I was using autofocus half the time (which I hate to do). I was exhausted and frustrated and I wasn't listening to any of the ques my body was giving me.
So I woke up cranky today, grabbed my camera, and went back to Central, grumbling along to way. I skipped the ferry (the novelty had warn off to me this morning), and took the metro, so about 20 mins to get there. I take five friggin' pictures and my camera dies. It goddamn dies because I'm a moron and forgot to charge the battery. Duh, apparently four days of constant shooting kills batteries.
Whatever, apparently the photography gods are sending me a signal, I need a break. Which, considering it got to the point yesterday I couldn't see straight, is probably for the best. No need to reshoot two days of stuff.
So I visited the Hong Kong art museum, which was beautiful, if a bit small. They had a gorgeous Chinese art collection (which I guess is less surprising than a great French art collection), I especially liked the ceramics. I wandered around East TST, got lunch, now I'm back. Aside from a slightly stiff left ankle, I'm feeling a hell of a lot better and ready to conquer HK again.
No pictures to share today, but tomorrow I'll be reain' to go.
